PROFESSIONAL LEARNING FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS
EQUITABLE ACCESS TO RIGOROUS MATHEMATICS
Professional learning is critical to the teaching profession. Research has shown that effective teachers actively participate in professional learning and are characterized by a lifelong learning attitude. They continuously deepen their knowledge, develop their skills, and find new ways to engage their students.
DEVELOPING YOUR TEACHERS SO THEY CAN DEVELOP YOUR STUDENTS
Organized into modules of study, the professional learning activities cover essential topics for mathematics education. From engaging students with rigorous mathematics to placing data at the center of math instruction and developing academic language as a tool for mathematical thinking, our professional learning program delivers a powerful learning experience to math educators.
CollegeReadyMath provides educators and teachers with the skill set and Strategy to develop your students through key modules that include:
Engaging Math Learners with Grade-Level, Rigorous Math
Module 1 focuses on ways to engage the math learner with rigorous mathematics so that they see themselves as doers of mathematics, no matter where they are, so they can always land on grade-level mathematics.

Module 1 includes the following sessions:
- Embracing Productive Struggle
- Enacting Instructional Routines in the Classroom
- Promoting Conceptual Understanding for Procedure Fluency
- Providing Appropriate Scaffolds
Module 1 will provide teachers with the following outcomes:
- Strategies to support productive struggle
- Instructional routines that deepen conceptual understanding
- Mastery and procedural fluency
- Use of appropriate scaffolds
Placing Data at the Center of Math Instruction
Module 2 takes on the idea that using data is essential to effective instruction. However the key is to move data from the periphery of instruction to the center of instruction while using meaningful data to strengthen core instruction and provide interventions.

Module 2 includes the following sessions:
- Using Formative Assessment as a Process for Accelerated Learning
- Interpreting and Benefiting from Data
- Multi-Tier System of Support: Core Instruction (Tier 1)
- Providing Interventions (Tiers 2 and 3)
Module 2 will provide teachers with the following outcomes:
- Making use of Formative Assessment
- Accelerating Learning
- Analyzing Sets of Data from Multiple Assessments
- Making Instructional Decisions based on Data
- Providing Effective Interventions in Math
Developing Academic Language in Mathematics
Module 3 connects mathematics and academic language as a tool for mathematical thinking. As student’s mathematical knowledge grows; so will their academic language, teaching that it is more than just a tool for communication; it is also a tool for thinking.

WHY DOES PROFESSIONAL LEARNING MATTER?
Educator-based professional learning helps teachers review student’s performance, identify learning concerns, develop a strategy for the student, and apply solutions to address students’ needs as quickly as possible.
OUR MISSION
We help teachers stay current with research-based practices, innovative teaching methods, and advancements in their subject area. The CollegeReadyMath Professional Learning program also encourages teachers to reflect on their teaching practices, identify areas for growth, and implement evidence-based practices in their classrooms.
